Set against the lush coastal landscape of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, the newly developed Club Med resort is an immersive destination that seamlessly brings together ocean, adventure, and wildlife. As a standout feature of this landmark development, a vibrant splash park was created to offer a safe, engaging, and visually striking play space for guests of all ages. Proudly serving as the local South African distributor for Rosehill TPV®, IRABHA™ (a division of Expectra 259 (Pty) Ltd.) supplied and delivered a high-performance, custom-blended rubber surfacing solution. This premium product was specifically selected to complement the luxury resort’s aesthetic while withstanding the rigorous demands of an active aquatic play environment.

THE CHALLENGE

Developing a wet-play surface within a high-traffic hospitality setting presents a highly demanding set of requirements. The installation needed to endure constant exposure to harsh treated water and heavy UV rays. Additionally, the surface had to meet strict safety standards, including superior slip resistance for heavy daily footfall, while retaining bold, long-lasting colour. The luxury resort setting also demanded a premium, playful finish that remained in harmony with the surrounding natural environment.

The solution

To meet these strict demands, IRABHA supplied Rosehill TPV® custom blends, renowned for their world-class performance in wet environments. The surface was installed in a series of vibrant, interlocking colour zones. The premium material guarantees strong UV stability against fading, excellent slip resistance under wet conditions for maximum safety, and a smooth, comfortable finish underfoot. The system’s inherent flexibility enabled seamless incorporation of bold shapes and striking contrasts, elevating the visual appeal and ensuring a highly durable, world-class user experience.
