At New Heights School, the courtyard forms the central hub of daily activity, connecting classrooms, social spaces, and outdoor learning areas. The brief was to create a series of pathways that would not only guide movement through the space, but also contribute to a welcoming and engaging environment for pupils. Rather than traditional linear walkways, the design introduces a network of intersecting paths in contrasting colours, creating a sense of flow and movement across the courtyard, helping to break up the space while maintaining clear wayfinding.
